Heron House - Bampton (Devon)

Had a fab two-night stay! The breakfast was downright delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes, right up my street! The only letdown was the creaky floorboards, but it added to the charm. Will definitely recommend this spot for a cozy getaway!

The hotel is clean and nestled in a historic style building with a marvellous location. The breakfast is exceptionally good with lovely bread and preserves, had everything you could imagine...

Thank you very much guys for a WONDERFUL stay for one night. The rooms are tastefully decorated and immaculate, with an electric kettle, central heating, and an iron. The setting is marvellous and lovely, it's adjacent to pubs and restaurants as well as the Heron House.

The unique decor in each bedroom creates a distinctive atmosphere that's hard to forget. The overall charm of the house really comes to life in the fine breakfast room, which feels like a set from a period piece.

The creaking wooden staircase, while adding to the character, can be a bit noisy if you're not careful, especially during the night. The hot winter dinner, although really good, felt a bit rushed for those who prefer a leisurely pace. The proximity to a quiet secret garden is nice, but it may not offer much in terms of activity for those seeking more than a tranquil escape.

Staying at Heron House was absolute bliss. The four-poster room was fine and comfortable. Fiona's breakfast struck the perfect balance with fresh fruits and a fantastic full English option. Really enjoy the honey yogurt with fruits. It was delicious. The local bakery provided fresh bread that was a treat. Although the room and facilities were great, the lack of heating during our second day made the atmosphere quite chilly. I felt hesitant to mention it to Fiona as it seemed awkward. The creaky staircase added a bit of character but also noise, so be careful moving around at night.

The garden area was so relaxing with beautiful plants and the delicious homemade jams at breakfast were a highlight. We even enjoyed a lovely packed lunch for our day out.

Cozy and warm vibes!

From the welcome we got to the comfy decor, it seemed like home. Breakfast was amazing with homemade jams, and I loved chilling in the picnic area outside. Only thing is, the off-site parking was a bit of a hassle, but just a small bump in an otherwise perfect stay.

The staff here are fantastic, and the atmosphere is peaceful, plus my room was spotless with lovely fresh flowers, coffee, and a spacious bathroom.

The place is well appointed and suited me fine. the staff are fabulous. the location is central.

The largest bedroom at Heron House was simply amazing! The double bed with beautiful white linens added a touch of luxury and romance, making it so cozy and comfortable. The stunning views of the garden and Bowbier Hill made the room feel bright and light, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

Personally, I found the private bathroom accessed by approximately 4 steps across the landing a bit inconvenient. However, I understand that others may still find enjoyment in the stylish bathroom with its comfortable bath and overhead shower.
